AFA Admission Process
Al-Furqan Academy’s admission process and criteria aim at considering each applicant holistically. Our decisions are based on the evaluation of the applicant’s values, character, academics, behavior, self-motivation, and citizenship.
Admission Priority Deadlines
Applicants who will meet our priority deadlines will be receiving an admission decision earlier.
Admission Checklist: Step-by-Step
As part of AFA’s (Al-Furqan Academy) enrollment procedure, an admissions process* will be applied to all new students. The process may include but not limited to 1. An admissions test in Reading and Math for all new Kg-12th grade students.
*The process for admissions may take up to 3 weeks to complete.
Acceptance to AFA is based on interviews, admission test scores, previous academic & behavior records, IEPs/504 plans, etc. Each case of admissions will be reviewed by the Principal to determine if the school can serve the student based on all factors.
Note: students with IEPs, 504 plans, and other special services will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
Step 1:
Apply for Admission- Waiting list- List open in March for the following academic year. Students will be placed on the waiting list for the admission testing window to open.
Step 2:
Invitation to take admission Test for K-12th grade in Math & reading
Step 3:
❖ Upon approval Submit all required documents
The following documents must be submitted to the Office for admission by the priority deadline.
1. Birth Certificate: If not born in the USA, bring an English translated foreign Birth certificate AND a US government-issued ID for the student
2. DH 680 Florida Certification of Immunization
3. DH 681 Religious Exemption.
4. DH 3040 School Entry Health Exam.
(may get it from your child's doctor or health clinic - must be valid within a year)
5. School records for new students:
Academic records: Two year’s report cards), official transcript (9th – 12th grade applicants), and disciplinary/behavioral report, IEP or 504 plan (if applicable).
6. Scholarship Award Letter - Kg-12th grade only
7. ELC certificate - VPK ONLY
